Message On Saturday night me and my Dad finished installing my JWT Street clutch and downpipes that I had sitting around for a few months. We ran into a couple of obstacles, making it quite an experience. My Dad works as a machinist at a marina which was closed down for a few weeks so it gave us a roomy, heated place to work in. He was there to walk me through and make sure I didn't do anything dumb which I ended up doing anyway. It took a few nights because I had work during the day.

Everything was going pretty smooth up until I was taking out the driver's side precat. I was taking off the top right bolt when I heard it snap right off. Great. Now I have a bolt stuck in my turbo. So this is where my Dad and his skills as a machinist come in. After I cried for a few hours my dad got his right angle drill and began drilling. He drilled through the sheared bolt and tried to get the rest of it out with easy-out. He couldn't get a good bite on the threads so we called it a night. The next day he tried using a tap to get the threads out. Well wouldn't you know it, the tap breaks off in there too. Sweet. By this time I pretty much hated my life. So now my Dad had another trick up his sleeve. He chiseled through the tap and broke it loose, and with the tap, came the rest of the threads from the sheared bolt. All this with the turbo still on the car. There was a time there where I was thinking we were going to be using one less bolt to hold the downpipe on.

So we get the clutch and new DP on and now it's time for the tranny to go back on. For about a half hour we tried getting it on this scrawny little jack with a lift cup that measured only about 4'' in diameter. I realized this was going nowhere so instead I ran home and got a bigger, beefier jack, which made getting the tranny up much easier.
After we got the tranny up, everything else was a breeze. We finished up at about 3am on Sunday morning, came back around noon, put some fluid in the tranny, cleaned up, and now driving the z is much more enjoyable. It sounds amazing with the DP's and the clutch pedal feels much a lot smoother and is just the right stiffness.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share my experience with the forum.
